Recommendations for an upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my current build (list here) which has a Ryzen 1600 and RTX 2060.  Ideally, I would be able to get COD:MW running at 1440p 144hz, with any settings, and maybe a little bit of room for futureproofing.  I know the CPU is a bottleneck, but I'm not sure how far up I need to go on the CPU/GPU to get where I want.

If you only want to upgrade your cpu a ryzen 5 3600x or a ryzen 7 2700x is will be a good enough upgrade if you are planning to get something like an rtx 2080 buy a ryzen 7 3700x for better futureproofing.
