Completely Overkill Watercooling Rig!!!

I just wanted to show off my (crazy) dreams...

So I been thinking the last couple of days about a stupid-fast ultra-overkill monster.

So here are the specs:

ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition

2x Intel Core i7 4960X

4x AMD R9 290X (or Titan Black's if they are available, and perform better)

64 GB Corsair Dominator Platimum 2400Mhz

Caselabs Magnum TH10 White

2x Corsair 1200i PSU (one for GPU's, the other one for the other components)

4x 512GB Samsung 840 Pro's (or EVO's, 1TB) in RAID 0

2x 4TB Western Digital Caviar Black's

Watercooling stuff coming soon (I can tell you that it's alot :D)

I like Apple

Change the 290x's out for 780 Ti 4-way SLI, and the SSD's for some 1TB EVO's :P

For 4960x you should change it to the Rampage iv black edition

Are you actually planning this or have you just put a list together of the highest end parts you can think of? Also, why not 780Tis?

What monitors would you go for with this? I'd like to see a fully fleshed out idea with peripherals and all.

So I been thinking the last couple of days about a stupid-fast ultra-overkill monster.

So here are the specs:

EVGA SRX-Mobo

2x Intel Core i7 4960X

4x AMD R9 290X (or Titan Black's if they are available, and perform better)

96 GB Corsair Dominator Platimum 2400Mhz

Caselabs Magnum TH10 White

2x Corsair 1200i PSU (one for GPU's, the other one for the other components)

4x 512GB Samsung 840 Pro's in RAID 0

2x 4TB Western Digital Caviar Black's

Watercooling stuff coming soon (I can tell you that it's alot :D)

My dream specs are basically the same except a single i7 x770k, a single R9 290(I am too utilitarian to get a flagship card), 32GB Dominators, Custom Case designed by me; built by me(cookie if you get the reference), Seasonic 80+Platinum 750w, 4x Samsung 840 EVOs in RAID0, 2x 4TB WD Red in RAID 6. Plus a custom built by me CherryMX keyboard.

You cant put 2 4960x CPUs in that board. If you wanna do dual CPUs you will need Xeons.

Good call! It'd be pretty depressing to spend $2000 on CPUs and not be able to do much of anything.

Pro's are faster then Evo's, more stable and cheaper (but yeah, who cares about pricing...)

Nope. Infact, AMD have had massive issues with frame pacing (supposedly fixed now). Eyefinity is often regarded as better than Surround, maybe you got them mixed up.

4 780Tis will outperform 4 290Xs, but now that @ZetZet mentioned Titans, they may be better at higher resolutions because of the extra VRAM.

Rumours are saying that Titan Black is pretty much a 780Ti with 6GB VRAM. If it's true, they'll be amazing at high resolutions.

In fairness you really don't have to think about a lot of the stuff on the high end. Just grab the most expensive hardware and cram it into a system :P

As for the Desk I thought about doing that but I would want to design my own Mini-ITX enclosure. Portability would be a priority and I would be able to custom tune everything I need exactly how I need it. Everything underwater of course!

But my design would have the actual components completely isolated from the world except for a window and some holes for tubing that way dust would only be a problem in the rad module instead of by the actual components.
