Bluetooth 5.0 PC Adapter Recommendations

Moogle Tarp

Season greetings all,

I was curious if anyone had any recommendations on Bluetooth 5.0 PC Adapters. Reason being is that I was recently gifted a bluetooth speaker and I figured that I might as well use it for my pc. As for why I prefer it to be '5.0' its because most 5.0's are using Qualcomm aptX (just a new hd audio encodec) so I can get the most out of the quality.

Here's one I found: https://www.amazon.com/Avantree-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Headphones-Broadcast/dp/B07W5DDZQN?ref_=ast_sto_dp

If possible, I'd like to spend less than $40

Looks to me like the device you selected is actually a USB sound card with built-in bluetooth, so possibly easier to get working than a normal bluetooth adapter.

For normal Bluetooth adapters:

Windows does not provide any tool or API for monitoring the codec used by A2DP. Whether it is SBC, aptX or something different – users are left completely in the dark.
