hey b o i s

Hey Reptar!

These parts will work together. The motherboard uses the LGA 1151 (v2) socket, which has the same mounting points as all the other 115x sockets from Intel, which span from 10 years ago to now. So it's one of the most compatible mounting system, which this cooler will work with too.

Be sure to check with whatever case you're getting if it fits a 240mm (2x120mm) radiator though. Preferably (IMO) in the top of the case.

The memory and board will also work nicely together.

An alternative could be a 3700X + Aorus X570 Elite combo. That would have twice the threads, but not as much single core performance as the 9700K. Depends on your use case, only certain games would still benefit from that difference in single-core speed. (Even the 3600X could be an alternative, which has more threads, but not as much single core speed for a much lower price).

A high end air cooler like the NH-D15 or Dark Rock pro 4 would also be an alternative to the cooler you have chosen now. Provided the case you have fits either of those coolers.

Those are both really quiet coolers which cool the CPU very well too, even in high overclock scenarios.

hey b o i s wanted to know if these parts are a good match for each other and if the h100i will even fit on this board I've never used water cooling before. Thanks

Yes all of that will work good together. But did you consider going AMD ?? Ryzen performs same but for smaller price. Where you from and what’s your budget?

Yes, that will all work together. The only thing I would say is your motherboard is a bit... excessive. The only real reason to step up to more expensive motherboards would be if they have a very specific feature you want. Motherboards make 0 performance difference... Any Z390 board would be just as good from a performance standpoint.

If that mobo has some specific feature you want like build in wifi, a certain amount of m.2's, or is the perfect color combo to match your build, then sure, why not. But unless that is the case, you can save yourself some decent money by stepping down the mobo and either just saving that money outright, or buying a better GPU with the difference.

For example, I got my mobo in my sig basically for free with a micro center sale with my 8700k, but its a relatively cheap mobo. Its usually about 110 bucks on amazon (USD), and its totally fine... Running a 24/7 5.0GHz OC on my 8700k, so clearly its a fine board.

expensive motherboards

Yeah but those numbers are in Canadian money, that's like...50$ in real-world money ? (I kid! I kid!)

Not all motherboards are created equally however, and some are expensive because they are worth it.

Also, unsure if those are the best prices he can get. Perhaps a link to pcpartpicker.com might help the OP save some pennies

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Thanks so much for the quick replies fellow reptilians!

Okay so I should have mentioned that I already have a 2080 ti MSI Trio and I ONLY plan on gaming and watching youtube/pr0n, is there any gains to going with an msi board to match my gpu manufacturer?

at first I was considering the 3800x but I saw the benchmarks for gaming and since that's all I plan on really doing I believe intel is the clear choice for gaming at this time for maximum FPS

I mean, yes, more expensive boards can use better quality components, but realistically this makes no difference. As long as its a Z390 board, it will have "more than fine" components. Assuming its from a manufacturer you can trust, like Asus, EVGA, MSI, Gigabyte etc.

Any Z390 board is built to handle a 9900k, thus they have to use good enough power delivery and have adequate cooling for that amount of power.

Matching the manufacturer doesn't matter at all.
