So I've finally decided to upgrade my processor, and wanted to run by the build to make sure I'm not buying something that will not work together.

My current system:

  • i5 - 7600K

  • Asus Prime Z270-A

  • Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 Vengeance LPX 16 GB DDR4 3200 (not really) MHz

  • Noctua NH D15

  • GTX 1080ti

  • EVGA Y2 220 G2 650W

  • 3 Samsung SATA SSDs: 840, 850 EVO & 850 PRO

  • Corsair CC-9011030-WW Carbide Series Air 540 ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Right now I'm looking at getting this: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZhtsbX

And I will get one of them AM4 kits for my cooler. Still need a suggestion for a good NVMe SSD to add, probably 1 TB.

What are you actually using the PC for, just gaming? The board and RAM are fine but if you're not planning on doing any heavy rendering for work or streaming you could save your money with a 3700x. Are you looking for a PCIe gen 3 or gen 4 NVMe SSD?

i'd recommend saving some money if gaming only and go for the 3700x or 3800x, or just go all out and wait for the 3950x. The 3900x has, at least for me, always been a head-scratcher.
