3 Fans in one "FAN" header.

So i have 8 Raidmax addressable RGB fans, each one is 0.15A, 3 pins, im running 6 of them on two headers, 3 Fans each.

The other two set on one header each normally.

 

So what i did was plug a 3 pin header of one fan and it also has a molex, then i plugged a molex and another molex of the two fans so i get 3 from one header.

 

I have MSI Carbon B450, is it safe or nah?

Each fan header is good for around 1A.

 

Your fans are rated for 0.15A ... when they start up, for a couple of seconds they may consume twice that amount. Even then 3 fans x 0.15A x 2 = 0.9A, which is less than 1A.

So, it would be safe to power all three fans directly from a single fan header using a splitter cable.

 

DO NOT power a FAN from both the motherboard AND the power supply (through a molex connector) at the same time.

No not from psu and mobo at the same time, its just every fan has a 3 pin header and a molex, for example u put the 3 pin in now the molex has power when u plug other fans molex into it

When you connect this fans through molex bear in mind they gonna be running 100% all the time, you not gonna have any control over it. Best to buy 3 way splitter and connet all of them to mobo

the molex isn't connected to the power supply, it's related to the fan itself, that molex gets power from the 3 pin in the mobo, when i plug the 3 pin of the fan in, it has another molex attached to the 3 pin, so i just connected the other fan to that molex

My question is would i be able to control their speed by adjusting just the first fan that's attached with 3pins and the others will follow? or they will all run at 100% speed.

Most likely they gonna run full speed, why you don’t get that 3 way fan splitter?? It’ll be much easier and you will have control over all of them.

Well, it should work. Speed on 3pins is based on amount of voltage motherboard delivers to them.
