Hello,

I have recently built a gaming desktop with the following hardware:

MSI MPG z390 gaming edge AC

Intel i7 9700k 3.6ghz

Corsair dominator platinum 3200mhz (2x8 gb)

EVGA geforce gtx 1660 cc

EVGA 850w 80+ gold

Corsair h100i platinum

Lian LI 011 razer case

My question is:

If I have 2 dual channel (above) ram sticks installed, could I purchase the same exact 2 sticks again in order to have a 4 dual channel ram setup?

I understand I have plenty of ram, but I intend on using Adobe CC heavily in the near future.

By adding 2 more RAM sticks you will only add more RAM to each existing channel. If you want to have more RAM channels, you need a different motherboard that supports quad channel RAM.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Zotac RTX 5090 SOLID OC/ x2 WD_BLACK NS770 2TBs/ Corsair HX1000i/ NZXT H5 Flow

If you buy the exact same, it will still be dual channel yes.

It will however not become quad channel. For that you need crazy expencive motherboards and CPU's (threadripper territory).

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Thanks guys, so adding the same 2 sticks will add memory size, but not increase memory speed or bandwidth, correct?

yes. same speeds just more GB's. :)
