Want to Install RX 570 in HP SFF

I want to install rx 570 on my HP SFF PC . Is it possible that i make it work by using pcie extender and a power supply that only powers the card using the 8 pin connector

NOTE:The second psu will be placed outside the case and power the card using the 8-pin connector while the oem hp psu will power the mobo and the pc

why not just ditch the case? So you dont need the PCIe riser.

I dont think there are any, or rather I'm not bothered to find any. A piece of cardboard at the bottom will do

and I'm suggesting a way to spend less, which is ultimately why you're upgrading it instead of replacing it.

I dont know how you'll get it work anyway since with a riser, the card has to be hold on with something else and the case gets in the way of that

The best you could do is a GTX 1050ti or GTX 1650. unless you'd go for an RX560...which is substantially slower than a 570.

Simple answer: Yes, it is.

Austin did something similar with a power supply in Scrapyard Wars and Linus did use extenders for graphics card in his video where an Epyc replaced all other computers in the house.

yes though you need to short a certain 2 power wires on 24 pin connecter of the second PSU

If I don't reply it's probly because I am in a different time zone or haven't seen your message yet but I will reply when I see it ?

i wouldnt use a sata to PCI-E adapter personally. Its always best to use a proper cable

its fairly easy to do that psu hack btw. I've had to do it a few times with a old PSU for technolgy projects

Depends on the SFF-PSU inside, but I guess it isn't capable to provide enough juice.

Usually the PSU does provide information on how much amps it can (safely) provide on the different voltage levels, like for example 5V-15A, 3.3V 15A, 12V 10A and so on. The rx 570 will need at least 12.5A just for itself, so everything sub 15A is likely to fail - for the graphics card only. Now you need to power the computer itself, which will also need a few amps to run, let's suggest 5A. So, that little PSU would need to provide all of its 240W to 12V=20A.

Additionally the system may exceed the needed draw initially to power on.
