The first thing i think of is a 1050 or 1050ti, since they only need power from the pci. And that case can only fit small gpus, and luckily there are a lot of diffrent SFF models of the 1050/ti. And a 1050 can easily handle 1080p too, so in 720p it will be amazing. Only problem is that the price of the 1050/ti is extremly weird rn.

Depends what’s your budget, GTX 1050 may be good option if you can afford it, if not look for 750/750ti (some cards do require power connector from psu but not all of them). Tbh with you this psu you got is really weak and I wouldn’t recommend adding any gpu to this system.

IMO, the 1050ti isn't worth what NVidia charges...

I don't believe all RX560's require a separate power connector and will be more than enough for 720p. They are also MUCH cheaper than 1050ti's.

The 1050/ti does generally outperform the RX 560, but the absurd cost increase ($60-$70) is not worth the added performance (especially when one can buy a RX 570 that absolutely destroys it performance wise for less money).

Be sure to verify whether external power is required for the particular RX 560 you choose...I've seen them sell as low as $89 on newegg. You should fairly easily be able to find a used one for well under $100.

RX 560's that do NOT require a 6-8 pin power cable are:

  • Gigabyte WindForce 16CU RX-560 4GB, RX560GAMING OC-4GD REV2.0
  • MSi AERO 14CU RX-560 4GB
  • ASUS AREZ RX-560 4GB, AREZ-RX560-O4G-EVO

As far as power draw, I believe they max out at 75w.

To be completely honest with you I think is really bad idea to put inside gpu which requires external power cable (from psu) and specially using adapter. But that is just my opinion

I suggested a RX 560 which are relatively low powered and do not all require external power. I'm not sure exactly what you mean...any mid range to high end GPU is going to require external power from a PSU.

You might look into a GTX 1650 (non Super) that doesn't need a power connector, like this one:

https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Graphics-Card/GV-N1650IXOC-4GD#kf

It's ridiculously expensive for what it is, but the "no external power" crowd is the only thing I'd recommend this card for. It clocks in right around 75W, and is quite a bit faster than the likes or RX 560 but won't really compete with proper GPUs like RX 570, which use more power.

Think outside the case. with about $225(not including tax) in upgrades you can have pc that can game at 1080p and achieve 60fps at medium-high detail in most games.

PSU: $50 new

GPU: $100 used like an RX470, RX570 and GTX 970 or , 130-170 new RX570

 and RX 580.

24 pin to 8 pin power adapter: $12

Gaming With a 4:3 CRT

Or just switch the motherboard for an additional ~$30 and get a really cheap set of DDR4 for about the same... Can even go with a less expensive PSU. Would solve a lot of short and long term problems moving away from the proprietary stuff.
