PC Upgrade

Dear friends, need ur suggestion for PC upgrade. I have Core i3 3rd gen processor and graphics card Nvidia GTX 750ti. Now I want to upgrade graphics card to RTX 2080 or RTX 2070 so plz guide if I only upgrade graphics card or first upgrade system than upgrade graphics card. Also suggest which one of above graphics card is best.

How much do you want to spend overall.

 

Those cards will be severely bottlenecked by your low tier processor.

I would say look at the 2070 with a core system upgrade. For the new components the best value would be around a ryzen 3600, 16gb (2x8gb) 3000-3600 MHz ram, and a B450 mother board (something like the MSI tomahawk max). You may also need to upgrade your power supply.

 

if that’s out of your budget, the AMD 5700 and Nvidia 2060 supers and good value cards that would perform well with that build.

2080 is around $700 still, 2070 super is around $500.

 

I would:

 

Spend:

 

$185 on a Ryzen 5 3600

$110 on a B450 Tomahawk Max

$70 16gb DDR4 3600 CL16 kit

$300 on an RX 5700 or $320 on an RTX 2060

$60 on a Corsair CX550

 

$720-740, only a few dollars more than a 2080, and brings you into the modern era.

While the poor CPU will bottleneck the GPU, you will still get a mighty upgrade over the 750ti. Whereas keeping the poor GPU and pairing it with a fast CPU will gain you almost nothing at all

 

Hardware unboxed did a comparison video a few years ago showing various CPU's and even a lowly Pentium was keeping up with faster chips with a 1060 in a lot of games. Its very game dependant ofcourse, some games REALLY want more cores, but those games also need more GPU than a 750ti too.

The 2070 Super has almost 2080 performance but is a decent amount cheaper, so i think the 2070 is the better option of those two.

A RX5700 might be a more sensible buy though?

But RX5700 is not future proof. I search internet most of the users bought Nvidia graphics instead of AMD Radeon

The 5700 is probably more future proof than a 2060 super, imo, if future proof means anything at all anyway.

 

My personal experience has favored AMD GPUs over nvidia. That won't stop me from recommending the 1650 super for the $150 segment, or the 2080 for the $700 segment.

 

5700 is bar none the BEST GPU you can get for $300. I wouldn't even consider the 2060 super, which costs $100 more and isn't really faster.

Nothing is future proof. Its simply about value for money.

 

A high end GPU might well still be usable in 2/3/4 years time, but it wont be "high end" after that period of time. Had you paid $1k for a TITAN back in 2013, by 2016, a 1060 costing $300 would be matching its performance.

 

The RX5700 is excellent value, and seems to be a bit of a sweet spot at the moment.

Yes, you are right. But I match the specs of RTX 2070 super and RX5700 in which 2070 super is faster than 5700.

U said u had 200 $, u cant afford a rtx 2070 super with that  i would say save some more money then uppgrade everything

yep, but the 2070s is also quite a bit more expensive...
