New Rig - Gold Mine

jackirv

So a couple of months ago i decided to have a go at watercooling, so I purchased a new rig and just a basic XSPC CPU watercooling beginers kit. Since then i decided to upgrade my loop to a CPU and dual GPU loop. But due to backplate issues i managed to shortout one of my cards which was then replaced and i haven't got around to waterblocking it and placing it back in my rig, so at the moment im only running one card. But anyway, my rig is as follows.

Hardware:

i7 3930k @4.8

sapphire OC 7970

HIS 7970

Asus X79 Sabertooth

BitFenix Shinobi XL

4x4 Corsair Dominator Platinum @2133

Corsair AX850

Intel 120GB 330 SSD

1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

3 x Corsair SP120 performance

3 x Xigmatec XSPC branded fans

Watercooling:

XSPC RASA cpu water block

2x Watercool 79X0 full Ni-Bl

XSPC RX360

XSPC RS360

Bitspower fittings carbon black

Koolance laing D5

Bitspower pump mod top + res combo

PrimoChill advanced LRT tubing clear 1/2 ID 3/4 OD

Mayhems X1 clear coolant

Mods:

Removed harddrive and opticcal bays

installed a false floor

painted mesh

Made a face plate to cover where drive basy would have been

Back mounted SSD and HDD

When i originally thought of making my rig, i had an idea of a black and gold themed build, but as i progressed i kept this idea, but made the gold touches very suttle. I plan on purchasing some amber LEDs to place around my system to try and make the gold look come more to life.

Im really not a fan of the blue PCB in my build, and previously i had a blacplate on it to cover it up but unfortunatly the card wouldn't work with it on so i need to try again.

In real life the coolant and tubing is completely clear and for some reason it has picked up as yellow on the photos

Could be the white balance on your camera.

Gorgeous build! I even like the strange gold-ish color in the photos, fits the color scheme of the build.

I love the gold and black CF colour scheme too xD. I have to agree the blue PCB did look out of place though. Also, do you think you'd be able to spray the metal bars on the Dominator Platinums gold? because that would look awesome :D.

My original idea was to spray the bars on the dominators gold, but then i put the in my system and i thought it worked alright. As for the blus PCB, im going to try get round to placing the back plate on it in the next couple days

I'd love to see gold fittings, it'd bring it all back around and just flat out amazing. But overall I love it, keep up the great work.

Looking nice, what you thinking of doing with this rig?

I've been using it for gaming, benching, basic photo and video editing, and it will soon power an eyefinity setup.
