but yes, the 970 has similar performance to a 570 and cex offer warranty so maybe it's actually a good option.

i wouldn't go for the cheapest possible TN panel. it will have terrible colours. the monitor is the thing you're looking at all day. might as well spend an extra £10-15 for a nicer IPS screen

I understand, I personally have 3 TN panels and I think they're fine, at the end of the day it's an entry-level gaming system and tbh I think for a university student who's surviving on maintenance loans, it'll be fine :)

 

Edit: however, I will bring this up to my friend and ask what they're willing to do :)
