Floatplane Wonders

Nano Adam

Just wondering, according to the Chrome Extension: Wappalyzer, Floatplane uses Firebase for its database. So, what do they use to store videos? Just wondering. And how would you be able to serve to so many people?

Thanks

I can at least answer the "how to serve so many people" question at a high level.  They, like most if not all internet companies, rent servers around the world that collectively have enough bandwidth to serve the people closest to each one.  It's not all streaming from LTT HQ if that's what you're wondering ?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

They use a Content delivery network  (CDN) that is how they can serve so many people.

They have multiple servers around the world and usually the closest one to you is what serves to content. I have no idea what exactly web server software they are using.

I believe it is their own CDN, (At least for the video portion.)
