Go for a 780ti instead of dual 770s (Imo single card is better than dual) also you could get a 760i for corsair link

Hope I could help!

What's with the RAM? The Vengeance Pro series ram have some of the worst timings on the market. I'd opt for G-Skill tridents, since you can get DDR3-2400 16gb for cheaper than the one you have selected.

Also, why not just spend about 50 dollars more towards your graphics card and get a 780ti? SLI doesn't always scale well in games, and you're better off getting a higher end single card now, and being able to upgrade in the future by just throwing in another card.

EDIT: You said you were running a single 770 for the start, in that case, you should be okay.

As for the PSU, you should be alright. Sure, you are 100w over what you'll actually need, but it could save you some room if you ever decide to make some upgrades (new processor in the future, etc).

Just some thoughts.

Brand of ram doesn't matter.

main use is for gaming

sli will be in the future, will run single 770 from the start

What's your budget? You could get better for the money.

1700-2000$

Better: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Qd0O

My actual recommendations: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2QcVO

Save the rest of the money for upgrades.

Hi guys

im planning to build this rig in the next couple of weeks

what do you think?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2QcbK

Here's what I would suggest

Powerful now, below budget, should be fairly quiet, and plenty of room for expansion and upgrade.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2QdjW

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU:  Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($314.99 @ Amazon)

CPU Cooler:  Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler  ($74.98 @ OutletPC)

Motherboard:  MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1155 Motherboard  ($134.98 @ SuperBiiz)

Memory:  A-Data XPG V2 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory  ($147.27 @ TigerDirect)

Storage:  Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($89.99 @ Newegg)

Storage:  Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($82.50 @ Amazon)

Video Card:  PNY GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Video Card  ($669.99 @ Microcenter)

Case:  Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($99.99 @ Microcenter)

Power Supply:  XFX ProSeries 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($129.99 @ NCIX US)

Operating System:  Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($97.98 @ OutletPC)

Total: $1842.66

(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

(Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-02-09 15:14 EST-0500)

you can change the RAM and CPU cooler if you'd like. 2x8 slot kit will give you upgradability, as will a 780TI and 850w PSU. There's money left over so you could buy a larger SSD if you'd like.

Edited by helping

Less heat, less noise, less power.

Buying two 780's will give you more raw performance now, but buying a single 780TI and then SLI as an upgrade in the future will give you more performance then. If you were to buy two 780's now, when you want to upgrade in the future you'd have to do either 3 or 4 way 780 SLI (imo, no) or throw them out all together.

There's nothing a 780TI can't handle today.

I always try to build a system that can be upgraded and conscious of the future.
