New motherboard won't boot after enabling XMP

So I just built a new computer and tried overclocking the ram as it had 3000Mhz as advertised speed and I wasn't satisfied with the default of 2400MHz. So I enabled the profile and my pc couldn't boot, it tried a few times before it posted to a safe mode. Then I tried lowering the speed to 2933Mhz, didn't work either, then 2800Mhz, still didn't work, so I just kept it at 2666Mhz which did work, but I'm not satisfied at all. I tried manually adjusting the voltage to 1.4 which didn't even work for 2800Mhz, obviously there's something wrong, but what?

 

CPU: 3200G

MB: Asus TUF B450M Gaming Plus (BIOS ver: 1804, not the latest, but not the oldest)

RAM: Team Group Delta RGB 2x4Gb 3000Mhz

Honestly, the issue is probably the CPU. The 3200G is actually a Zen+ part, not a Zen 2 part. I guess you lucked out on the silicon lottery.

 

Yoiu should still try updating the BIOS to the latest version anyway, it can't hurt and might be the cause.

I had a post about this. but here is the post quick and explained.

 

Open ryzen master.

put the ram and fabrick clokc to 1500mhz leave timing auto, reboot.

Then in ryzen master put your cas latency and cas write latency to 16, reboot again. 

Tehn put your read roc column daley adn row precharge dalay to 18.

Then put your ras active time to 38 and your row cycle time to 58, reboot and test memory

Motherboard tier list. Tier A for overclocking 5950x. Tier B for overclocking 5900x, Tier C for overclocking 5800X. Tier D for overclocking 5600X. Tier F for 4/6 core Cpus at stock. Tier E avoid.

(Also case airflow matter or if you are using Downcraft air cooler)

( You can overclock Tier C just fine, but it can get very loud, that is why it is not recommended for overclocking, same with tier D)

At which step do I put the 3000Mhz?
