Go to solution Solved by Constantin,

I have the same CPU and the same temps

All good, you are just fine!

Hi all I am wondering if these temps are ok?  I been gaming for a few hours and stopped for the past 5 or 10 minutes to these temps

In game it doesnt go above 70ish  usually 65 to 70  on idle(surfing youtube )it seems to be at 45c to 50c But at its between 45 and 55c while typing this and downloading rainbow siege

Thanks

Yes that's perfectly fine and normal. Depends on your ambient temperature. Also your GPU go fanless when not used. From your screenshot idle temps is just above 30.Check idle clocks instead:

Hi not worried about the gpu, also thefans dont turn off sadly.  I have to use Precision X or the fans dont work at all on it.  I think evga made this model with the hope of us killing it, the auto doesnt do crap and the gpu will quickly reach 70 to 75c as well in game.  I crank fans to 70% and it stays under 60C in game.

I am more concerned about the CPU

Awesome!  I see you got yours at 4.9Ghz.  I have mine on auto turbo, which seems to favor 4.6 to 4.8, but since my mobo is on the cheaper side, I dont intend to OC it until I buy a better board.  Thank you both for your info.

I just upgraded from a 6700k, it never saw over 60C even at full load, is only reason I am asking.  That and I reused the same AIO, but I replaced the fans with the same brand just new, to try and extend the life of the aio

Yes again check clocks, when in browser for example. But your idle temps is just over 30 C, which is perfectly normal. This will only happen when your cpu is on idle clock 800mhz

Ok thanks.

Also I turned my gpu back to auto, and here is the stats on the pc.  How did you manage to get your fans to turn on automatically?  Mine refuses unless I use Precision X  Thanks again(trying to make sure I care for my pc, I cant afford to replace it lol)

You might have MCE enabled. Link to manual: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_z390-ud_v2_e.pdf

Abot the fan thing. Should be in stock BIOS? When under 60c fans shouldn't turn. So try closing Precision X1 and stop it from starting and restart - launch a game and they should start when temperatures go up.

I have the same exact GPU. 75c is perfectly normal, and you shouldn't be worrying about it unless it hits 85-90+. Mine sits just shy of 80c during games and it is silent. The FTW3 is EVGA's top of the line model and they definitely do not make it with the hopes of consumers killing it.

Put your fans on the standard or silent profile and let it be, Precision X doesn't need to be open, they will kick on when needed.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just a follow up.  Loving the I7 9700K, I play Ark Survival like 12 hours a day when off, and it runs amazing

image.png.84453696c175e3f327fb0c77ca9b6a6e.png

This is with a 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor @ 120Hz, 1 1920x1080 monitor connected, 3 open chrome tabs HWM, Steam, antivirus and discord running as well as some other stuff.  Very happy with performance and temps havent gone over 80 since I reseated the cpu.  Its only like 55F outside, 65ish F inside, but overall +1 cpu

  • 9 months later...

I know this is old but wanted to update.

I got a new AIO, ML 360 R, My cpu never goes above 45c.   If I OC to 5Ghz it goes up to 60 but thats it.

My GPU however has suffered the heat from a front mounted AIO.  GPU temps idle/surfing are 50 to 60c.   In games They are 60 to 75c.

Running 3 monitors.

3440x1440 @ 120ghz

1920x1080p @ 240Ghz

1920x1080 144hz.

So I am sure having 3 high refresh rate monitors and a front mounted AIO is to blame for the temp rise, but its still well within the limits.  I also have fan speed set to default, or temps would be lower.

Sorry for necroing my own thread, just felt like follow up updating.  Oh I also added a 1tb M2 drive on the mobo as well.  Overall system is a tad hotter but performance is great.
