So i recently bought a cheap no name brand Mini ITX case as a Media/Storage PC

But im an idiot and didn't notice the case doesn't come with a hard drive Bay...

Now this for the OS since its an SSD it's not a big deal but I kinda need one to multiple HDD in the damn thing ( Just one at the top)

Now there are holes/places in the case so i could probably Jerry-rig something that could hold in place,

Any recommendations on a cage/bay that i might be able to use and screw down to the bottom?

P.S - Yes this is a really old MB &CPU :)

the holes on the case floor aren't hard drives mounts?

This. Plus can always drill some holes and use washers to space the drive off the bottom of the case a bit. Likely only be able to fit 2 drives like this tho... I mean.... you can 3d print a hard drive “tray” that holds more than 1. I have done this and have a .stl I could send you. You can have a 3D print shop make and shop you one for ~30 bucks most likely. Just an option ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ill try to get a 3D printer but I doubt i can get my hands on one....

P.s. did you make a 3 drive because of the size of your printer or because u only needed 3?

It’s a double. But I could make up to a 10-15 I bet. I use the printers I have available to me at work.

But there are online companies that will print for you and ship the part to you. They don’t charge tooooo much. But, wouldn’t cost much less then just buying a new case I bet :/

Also looks like you can mount one in the floor of the case too, like the MB panel...

Get something like this and mount it to the floor?:

https://www.newegg.com/silverstone-sst-sdp08b-2-x-2-5-drive-to-3-5-bay/p/N82E16817997046

...or what is in the area top right across fromt he power supply? Is there room for a tray there?

How many drives do you want in there?

When I was building my new system back in Jan... I struggled with the case because I NEED 3.5 bays and even a 5 1/4 bay for a BDRom.  Choices were kinda slim and at the really low budget end of the market... I bought a couple and sent them back as they were garbage... Ended up with the Sharkoon BW900 which is a decent little case... could do with better airflow at the front though... But space for a 280mm AIO in the top... barely... We're talking a couple mm to spare when fitting it, and thankfully it had 2 drive bays for the BDRom, as I needed to drop the drive into the lower bay to clear the AIO.

There's a 120mm at the rear, and room for 2 more 140mm at the front.... everything has filters and it's got decent front IO with audio in/out, 2x USB2 and 2x USB3.1.. and internally there's room for half a dozen drives if needed, Then HDD rack has room for 2 SSD's (with adaptors inc) and 2 3.5 HDD's in the lower drive bay and the upper drive bay can be removed.

It's got a proper tempered glass side panel, tinted and aside from a little bit of restriction on the front intake due to a grill in the front panel and a filter over the fans... has a large hole at the bottom to allow extra airflow to be drawn in that way.  It's even got rubber grommets on the MB tray.

I think I paid about £60 for it last Jan.

Downsides are no PSU cover, and the cables for the front IO are a little short and the USB3 and 2 plugs are bound into one cable that on my MB restricts the ability to plug both in... So obviously I opted for USB3 over 2.

So even with the upper HDD bay removed... it's got 2x 1TB SSD's and 2x 3TB HDD's installed, 2/3 of one 140mm fan provides airflow across the drives and trhe other directly into the middle of the case. The AIO exhausts out the top along with the real 120mm.

I fitted Corsair ML fans all round as the supplied ones weren't very good and my system idles roughly 5-8ºC above ambient in my office.

I've even got a 3.5" mem card reader installed underneath the BDRom as there's still a bay for that.

Sharkoon don't seem to make this particular case anymore, but it's very similar to their AI7000 externally, but that's missing the HDD cage and the 3.5 bay underneath 2 5 1/4 bays..

System 1: Gigabyte Aorus B450 Pro, Ryzen 5 2600X, 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz, Sapphire 5700XT, 250GB NVME WD Black, 2x Crucial MX5001TB, 2x Seagate 3TB, H115i AIO, Sharkoon BW9000 case with corsair ML fans, EVGA G2 Gold 650W Modular PSU, liteon bluray/dvd/rw.. NO RGB aside from MB and AIO pump. Triple 27" Monitor setup (1x 144hz, 2x 75hz, all freesync/freesync 2)

System 2: Asus M5 MB, AMD FX8350, 16GB DDR3, Sapphire RX580, 30TB of storage, 250GB SSD, Silverstone HTPC chassis, Corsair 550W Modular PSU, Noctua cooler, liteon bluray/dvd/rw, 4K HDR display (Samsung TV)

System 3 & 4: nVidia shield TV (2017 & 2019) Pro with extra 128GB samsung flash drives.
