Response time

Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

What does it mean? And how can you see difference? Is big response time very bad? I mean if you watch movies or in gaming, how it looks?

Below 5-8ms diffence is very tiny and pretty much all monitors are 8ms or lower.

Officially the time that is meant to be listed is the time it takes to go from White to Black and back to White again. Many manufacturers also list out the gtg aka as grey to grey which turns out to be a better test of the time it takes for the pixels to switch between any two colours.

Unfortunately the stats listed for most monitors on websites in regards to this are garbage and have little relation to how much ghosting you will see in practice. You need to find a good review for your monitor that determines both the latency introduced by the monitor and the switching time of the pixels to get a true picture of the latency associated with a monitor.

I play a lot of FPS games, and I can tell the difference between 8ms and 3ms. It's very small and I figure that most people probably wouldn't notice, but I did. My hand eye coordination is also a lot higher than a normal persons. Honestly I would say I felt it 60/40 than saw it, but the difference was huge for me.
