New AMD gaming system

Johnvosh

In the new year I plan on building myself a new dedicated gaming rig. I will only be using it for gaming and plan to keep it for 5-6 years like my last gaming PC. I am switching over to the AMD Ryzen CPU this time instead of Intel like my last builds. Here is what I've got so far on my list....

$420 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

$95-$170 RAM: 16-32GB 3200MHz DDR4

$230+$28 IPR MOBO: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus [I don't need WiFi and I have had MSI motherboards in my last 3-4 builds]

$680+$68 IPR or $560+$56 IPR VIDEO: Gigabyte 2070 Super Triple Fan or Gigabyte Radeon 5700XT Triple Fan

$110 PSU: Corsair RMx RM650X

$130 SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

$65x2 + $7x2 IPR HDD: Seagate 7200RPM x 2

$130 Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Dark TG

$80 Fans: Thermaltake Pure 14 AGRB 3/pk 140MM

Total cost is approx $2,300 after tax. Canadian Pricing from Memoryexpress and some items have the in store product replacement for 2 years as well.

Is there anything I should change or that you would recommend? I don't play first person shooter games or fast paced games, and am gaming on an Acer 27" 1080p monitor. Planet Zoo is the newest game I want to play currently....

Hello,

The 3600 is enough for gaming, this x570 is one of the worst available so get a MSI B450 Max instead (a-pro, gaming plus or tomahawk, whichever is the cheaper).

This SSD looks overpriced so look at the MX500 instead from Crucial.

16Gb of ram is also still good for now :)

3600 is enouhg like @Plouffe said. especially your running 1080p. and you dont play fast paced fast so no need 240fps or even 144 fresh rate.

why X570? do you need the PcLe slot? if its not then go to B450 Tomahawk or something like MAX Board. youre wasting money if you buy X570 just for 1080p gaming. 32GB for gaming? 16 is enough. and 5700XT for price. if you want Ray-Tracing then RTX.

  Spec: Macbook Air 2017

| RAM: 8GB LPDDR3 |
