  1. I tried booting with each stick and it changed nothing. I even ran a memory checked and it all checks out good. Ran a check on both my drives and they checked out fine as well....
  2. It is booting into windows after a much longer boot time. I have no issues in Windows, seems to run fine. I even left it on all night to see if it would crash or freeze and was fine when I checked on it in the morning and have been using it with no issues all day.
  3. I have a Dell Optiplex 9020 as my main and only computer right now. It is running 4x4GB DDR3 ram, has an Intel Core i5 4570 CPU, a Samsung 256GB boot SSD, and a Hitachi 2TB data HDD, running Windows 10 Pro. Everything has been working good with the system until the last couple of days. The system seems to really be hanging on boot up. It use to boot in around 30 seconds or less, not it is taking a couple of minutes. I have disconnected the CD drive and moved the SSD to that cable in case it was the cable that was bad. I have checked the S.M.A.R.T. status of both my drives and everything checks

  5. Well my parts finally came in and got it all up and running today! I've included some of my benchmark numbers, the system is not overclocked. The case is only going to be temporary until I find myself a nice blue case with good airflow that I like, which is actually quite hard to find. This case I have had for a number of years and like the fact that you can actually see the fan on the video card instead of the back plate and I think case manufactures should make more cases like this. I have been trying to find a good one like this with cable management, but I can't find any or find any that d
  6. Well, took and ordered the parts for my new gaming PC. This system is only going to be used for games as I have a 4th gen i5 Dell Optiplex 9020 for normal everyday stuff. 7. In the new year I plan on building myself a new dedicated gaming rig. I will only be using it for gaming and plan to keep it for 5-6 years like my last gaming PC. I am switching over to the AMD Ryzen CPU this time instead of Intel like my last builds. Here is what I've got so far on my list.... $420 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X $95-$170 RAM: 16-32GB 3200MHz DDR4 $230+$28 IPR MOBO: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus [I don't need WiFi and I have had MSI motherboards in my last 3-4 builds] $680+$68 IPR or $560+$56 IPR VIDEO: Gigabyte 2070 Super Triple Fan or Gigabyte Radeon 5700XT Tri
  8. To Techlinked and your TechNews video's. Please start posting the timestamps to each news topic in the video description. I have stopped watching your video's because you are lazy and seem to refuse to put them in the description. You should be following the steps of "Hardware Unboxed", where they actually put the timestamps. Not everyone is interested in every topic and only wants to view the ones that they are interested in. Thank you.

  10. The video cards used for the testing and my make shift test bench since I don't have any spare cases....
  11. All right everyone, time for some classic video card benchmarking! All tests were run once. Driver was uninstalled and reinstalled for each video card. My sound card, a Creative Labs CT4810 was working fine until I plugged in the Radeon 9700, then once the system booted into Windows it was making a weird sound, I restarted, and then nothing. I could remove it from the device manager after doing a refresh, then reinstalling it, but then it would just keep saying that the drivers weren't installed or there was a problem. So I moved it from slot 4 to slot 5 and it is working.... I als
  12. It seems to be working now. thank you
  13. Nope, doesn't matter if I edit just one field of many. Tried filling out all my system info, job, location and nothing is working.
  14. I've tried three times today to enter profile information such as my location, job, and fill out all the info for my system. I then click save and it brings me to my main profile page and it is blank. I click on edit profile again and nothing, everything is all blank.... Please help
  15. I think it must be disabled. My clocks stay at 4.2 GHz all the time. I think back when I did the overclock on this, I just used the OC Genie button on the motherboard.
  16. Quick question.... I am running an MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming motherboard with an i5 4670K overclocked to 4.2 GHz. I have had it locked at this speed since day one. Is there any way to keep this overclock, but have it lower the speed if I am just browsing the net or do light duty tasks? Thank you!
  17. MSI Radeon 7970 OC. The die on this card has a mirror finish and no writing.... When I had it cleaned, it was so shiny I could hold it facing the TV behind me and watch it as if I was looking at it. Very shiny!
  18. Here's my scores for a couple core 2 Quad CPU's I have. The first is a Q6600 with a score of 509. The second is a Q9550, @ stock clock of 2.84GHz it got a score of 680. @ 3.4GHz I got a score of 815! The weird thing I have noticed though is that Core #0 runs the hottest and core #1 runs the coolest. Any ideas what could be causing this? I am running a Hyper 212 Evo cooler and I know I have good coverage with the thermal paste....
  19. Took and pulled apart my old video card, an MSI Radeon 7970 OC. Looks like I need some new thermal pads for the memory. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase some? I'm guessing newegg.ca or maybe Amazon.ca would be good places to look? What thickness should I get? Thank you!
  20. Recently got some older video cards and thought I would show why it is a good idea to clean, check, and replace the old thermal compound! Some of these I have had for quite sometime as well. Please add your photo's as well! I still have 5 more to add, but need to get some more thermal compound. I cleaned and replaced all the thermal compound with Cooler Master brand as that is what I had. Would of liked to have used Arctic Silver 5
