One of my fans spins slower

Smackaroy

I have some 3000rpm fans and according to my software they spin at around 2800rpm but I have 1 which spins at 2600rpm. Is this normal

Is it the same model as the others?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

My cases fan controller it's not a power issue because it's 3 channels each at 10w and I and the fans are 6w. Btw I have 3 fans noctua ippc 3000rpm

Well that knocks my idea on the head.

They’re off a case controller? Like a separate one not part of the mobo?  If you swap the fan plugs into different ports is it the port that makes it slower or is the one fan always slow?

If it’s just the one fan, My personal urge is to name it “pokey” and stick a frowny face sticker on the fan hub.  Not very useful I know.

the real question is do you need your fans operating at 3000 rpm?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

It's the fan but I quess 200rpm lower isn't going to make a noticeable difference especially on such a fast fan. I could put the fan in the back as an exhaust for positive pressure. I shall also name it pokey :)

*whispers* it reads a little slower than the other fans but it’s still a good nice fan.

What fan controller? How are you reading the fan rpm?
