Motherboard Errors

I recently bought a Xeon X3330 for it along with 4GB of ECC RAM from eBay. (recommended by a good friend)

 

It is currently not working. Before POST, it beeps continuosly. I looked up the beep code, it was a memory error. So I thought, may be one is bad. I tried each alone, to no avail.

 

Is there a chance that my RAM is shut OR my CPU's memory manager is bad? Or perhaps my RAM slots have been shot?

 

Don't want to spend a lot of money, but if I need to, I will.

Have you previously tested this board with other hardware, are you sure it actually works?

Did that awhile ago. Was having issues with my Xeon. I just read online that this may fix CPU errors.

Yes, it works fine with regular DDR2 non-ECC. Just spits this carp out with ECC.

I thought of that, too, and it is enabled in BIOS. 

 

The ECC RAM? Where do you find DDR2 ECC RAM new? Yeah, it's used.

might try to disable ecc the ecc function might be detecting a problem and not allowing boot, You might find some on amazon, newegg I would assume would have some

honestly you probably don't need it and could do as well maybe better with regular ddr2

might come down to bad sticks

may have to buy new/used/refurbished sticks

 

hopefully nothing wrong with the mobo or the traces on the pcb

Update: It was the RAM... Thank gosh it wasn't any problem with my board or CPU. Thanks, all.
