Which would you choose?

ADedL33Sp00n

Hello everybody, I'll keep it short, video card busted on me this week, ordering a new one. There is a Strix 1660Ti for $310, but there is also RTX 2060 for $345

Saving for a wedding and on a fairly tight budget? Does the community really think that Ray Tracing and a like 5 to 10% performance boost is worth 40 bucks? (Not to mention the strix model looks ?) Both have free shipping. HALP ME DECIDE ?

P.S. I only have a 450 watt power supply (Corsair SF 450 Gold), and a Mini ITX so anything more than a dual slot GPU will be tough to fit, 2.5 max. If that sways any opinions

how tf is an RTX 2060 only 5-10% faster than the 1660ti? That's more like 1660S versus 1660Ti number. 2060 vs 1660ti is more like 25%. Yes, without using RTX features where the 2060 will pull ahead even more.

or rather, premium models of a supposedly affordable GPU (like the 1660ti Strix) are just stupid.

In all the videos I've seen I've only seen like attend a 15 frame difference, plus i figured with the extra performance from the strix model and some OC it might pull a bit closer to a 2060 thats more akin to stock

Yeah if we assume i can get a higher overclock on the 1660ti its about 10%, and the strix model is discounted to about MSRP for a 1660ti at the moment (270 i think is what its supposed to be at, and its on par or better than others on newegg or PC parpicker)

you could still overclock the 2060, premium models dont pull more than 1% ahead of average models with their overclocking potentials assuming equal silicon quality.

I guess thats fair, I couldnt find much in the way of sku to sku benchmarks, so i figured there might be more gain than that. 2060 it is then! Thanks!
