hi i just want to ask if a 3000 Mhz CL 16 ram is better than a 3200 Mhz CL18 ?

 

also is Team Elite Vulcan TUF 16gb 2x8 Memory 3000mhz Ddr4 CL16-18-18-38 compatible with ryzen 3000? 

 

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

 

CURRENT PC SPECS    

CPU             Ryzen 5 3600 (Formerly Ryzen 3 1200)

GPU             : ASUS RX 580 Dual OC (Formerly ASUS GTX 1060 but it got corroded for some odd reasons)

GPU COOOER      : ID Cooling Frostflow 120 VGA (Stock cooler overheats even when undervolted :()

MOBO            : MSI B350m Bazooka

MEMORY          Team Group Elite TUF DDR4 3600 Mhz CL 16
STORAGE         : Seagate Baracudda 1TB and Kingston SSD
PSU             : Thermaltake Lite power 550W (Gonna change soon as i dont trust this)
CASE            : Rakk Anyag Frost
CPU COOLER      : ID-Cooling SE 207
CASE FANS       : Mix of ID cooling fans, Corsair fans and Rakk Ounos (planned change to ID Cooling)
DISPLAY         : SpectrePro XTNS24 144hz Curved VA panel
MOUSE           : Logitech G603 Lightspeed
KEYBOARD        : Rakk Lam Ang

HEADSET         : Plantronics RIG 500HD

At 3000 MHz a latency of 16 clock cycles translates to about 10.66 nanoseconds.

 

At 3200 MHz a latency of 18 clock cycles translates to 11.25 ns.

 

So slightly increased latency (+5.5%) for mildly increased transfer speed (+6%)

In gaming and some work loads(Autocad, Dialux, skectchup, and programs of the same nature plus coding) what does that translate to?

True, but e.g. some apps are more latency sensitive and others profit from additional bandwidth.

 

It's hard to say which is which, without benchmarks. The differences between the values above are fairly minimal though, so shouldn't matter too much.
