Hey, so it's been a while since I last made an update to my system and I've recently been looking into graphics cards but have found myself struggling to find something I'd be happy to go ahead and purchase without some input from those of you with some knowledge on things. I'm looking to spend anywhere in the region of £150-£200 and I'm pretty much trying to get as much out of the card as possible, the greater the performance the better. VR and the likes are pretty much out of the question, but I'd like to think I could get a card that I could throw most games at with higher settings without seeing too much of an FPS issue.

Greatly appreciate any sort of input as I'm at an end as to where to even really begin looking, I'll be running the card alongside a Ryzen 2600x, 16GB RAM and on a Corsair 750W PSU if that helps at all, thank you.

Are you okay with buying used Graphics cards? Are you in a highly populated area? I don't know much about upcoming deals on Amazon but I think you can find some really good deals on used graphics cards at the moment, with people having upgraded their old ones (old can be applied to as high as a 1080) for pretty good prices. I don't see any way you can get a good deal on a new graphics card that won't REALLY bottleneck your CPU unless if you're going for older AMD titles like an RX580. (which I recommend if you do want to get a new card).

Also, you have to keep in mind that if you are planning on using an old card, you might have to get dirty with changing the thermal paste and manually inspecting it and it's components, but from my experience, nothing that's not worth the risk.

Some GTX 1660 Super cards are within that price range. Or RX 590.

Or second hand GTX 1070 (Ti). The Ti usually seem to be a bit more though. Some people are even offering 980 Ti cards for that price.

Although looking at the market, a new GTX 1660 Super is probably a better option that a second 980 Ti/1070. Similar performance, while the 1660 Super is only 20-50 GBP more.

The RX 590 would be right around the 200 mark and the 1660 would probably be the runner up. There is also the RX 580 with some of them hitting the $150 mark. outside of that I would look at used cards. I have been seeing a lot of used 1070's and vega 56's in the $200 price range recently, and 1060 6GB and rx 580's at the $100 range.

A bit of an update since I'm blind as shit right now; if you're talking about GBP a new 1660 is good for your price range as the good folks above mentioned, GTX 1660 is a really good buy, with almost no bottleneck on either side when paired with your CPU. I wouldn't recommend you buy a single fan 1660 Super, sounds sketchy to me. 1070 is also a good pair, but very expensive on the new side. Used should be around your price range. Good deals on new 1660 TI and Super. (around 40 GBP more expensive than your price range's extreme though.)

Checkout bottleneck calculator if you'd like, but keep in mind that both your CPU and GPU are overclockable, making the website seem inaccurate but gives you a good idea on whether you're making the right decision or not. Good luck!

I've looked at RX 580's and didn't realise that the 590's weren't too much more in terms of pricing. I'd prefer to get something new rather than second hand simply for the fact that if something does go wrong with it I have the option of returning it.

I'll take a look into the RX 590's and see what there are on offer, if anyone knows of any particularly good models feel free to drop them in, cheers.
