Looking to improve Audio!

I want a DAC or a Soundcard for my ATH-M50s. Now, I've heard that the DACs are better, but which one should I get? And any suggestions for what DAC?

DAC might not make a large difference depending on what you have now... especially portable dacs are quite crappy, but it might be a good idea if you have a phone or mp3 player with a crappy built in DAC.

Improving you audio with those typically means new headphones.

 

The cheapest thing you can get is an e10 which will run around 70$(?) and the amplifier part of it isn't doing much since your motherboard has no problems driving it. 

 

No point in buying a component that costs around 70% of the headphones worth to only have a marginal at best quality gain.

How much do you have to spend? What country do you live in?

Upgrade your headphones first, those aren't really worth getting a better amp or dac for.

but really, those headphones barely make a difference with higher quality stuff. They sound the same on my phone (both iPhone 4 and Nokia Lumia 920) and my laptop, and my desktop PC, which has Realtek ALC892 and an ASUS Xonar D2X soundcard. and if you're looking for better audio quality, I'd get better headphones. I went from M50's to Shure SRH440 with 840 pads, which imo sounds better and is cheaper. and they're also a lot more comfortable.
