Setup for 1080p 144hz?

Looking to build a new machine  to hit 144fps on a 144hz monitor. i was wondering if my current rx580 8gb woule be up for the task.

 

Im trying to uograde from a r3 1200.  But mainly just trying to salvage my rx580 to keep the budget low. Suggestion? 

I guess a r5 2600 or 3600?. Anyway fire your partpicker in canada with a 500$budget or so?

Almost any machine made within the last 10 years that supports the refresh rate can do that. Did you need the machine to do something else or only that?

depends on the game. I have a 2600 and a 5700XT. Most games do not really push my CPU. Im getting:

~100fps on RDR2 on low-medium settings, CPU usage 45% and GPU 100%

~75FPS on Doom on ultra settings, havnt looked at CPU and GPU metrics as I just downloaded it a few days ago and havnt had time to play it.

 

the 2600 is super cheap right now and will last years.

Yeah didnt mention gaming. Right now I just play wow classic but ill prolly go back to some shooter soon

well without knowing the game other than it being a shooter i'd say your 580 will be just fine then.
