specifiactions
Ryzen 2600
Mb - Msi tomahawk B450  Bios version-7C02v1C
Ram- Trident z 16gb (2X)  (tgzr variant) currently running at default setting
Gpu- Nvidia 1080 FE
windows 10 x64 build 1909
Psu - Crosair vs550w

Temps- Are normal as gpu sits around 75C under load/gaming and cpu Max temp is 84C(during 100% load) and during gaming its around 50C

cpu- I have tested cpu using Cinebench R-20 benchmark it passed 6-7 successive runs then I stopped.

Gpu- Tested it using 3D benchmark time spy the pc restarted during the second run this behavior was repeated every time (with 1 exception mentioned below).

Hdd/windows- I thought it could be either hdd/win so I disconnected all the hdd and booted the system in bios, it restarted again after some time.I tested this 4-5 times (with each ram)
Reinstalled windows just after memtest now I sometime get random bsod (page in non page area, security system, win32full,kernel security check failure, critical process died)
all of this have poped up once after the fresh install (this might due to reboot in the middle of installation setup process)

Already cleared cmos

Bios- updated to 7C02v1C

Ram
I tried both the rams one by one and the problem still presists so I think they r fine.
Memtest86
Tested each ram individually and together
One of them showed few errors at max advertised speed but no error if I tone it down a little.(tested at default speed too no error)
but it did restarted during testing (was not a able to complete all 4 pass in any test as it took around 1hr but tht was around my typical restart time)
Completed windows memory diagnosis with no errors.

psu- The fans are super quite it doesn't looks like its being pushed that hard

ReBoot
After using my system for 6 months this problem started (I used it gaming, Autocad inventor, virtual machinig)
1) Now my pc will just randomly reboot during gaming or even during light load or when I am just watching videos.

2) Sometimes after the initial reboot the pc will enter a boot loop and then there will be no display
the Ez debug light will have cpu light glowing while the rest of the pc is still on(fans r spinning, ram rgb is lit)
(Also notice in hardware info "Performance Limit - Reliability Voltage" is +ve so should I try increasing the voltage)

Both the above cases will happen within 30mins to 1.30hr. Over 1hr when idle (but eventually it will restart) (restart will occur early if I increase the load on gpu)

3) The Golden run - Rarely my pc will not restart and I can game for 3-4 hours (I stopped after tht)
and can even pass multiple time spy benchmark (3-5 times before I stop). But it restarted if I left it over night

Any kind of under clock helps to extend the restart duration (atleast it feels like it never timed it), but using single stick instead of dual
makes a quite a noticeable difference like it extends from 1hr to 2hr or more.

I think my psu has given up but just want to be 100% sure (sometimes I even doubt my gpu due to golden runs and faster restart during gpu intensive load).
Is there any other thing to test that I might have forgot to do.
I am low on budget and as everything is under warranty except the psu so if it is something that can be repaired.

Had the same issue with ryzen 3600,  3200 corsair ram and b450 msi tomahawk max - except my PC would only restart while idling,  never under load (strangely)

I solved the issue by returning the motherboard (I suspect ram incompatibilities) and using my old, trusty msi b350 board instead now.

Crashes / random restarts since then (a few weeks)  :  zero

In my opinion this b450 board has issues,  maybe not all of them but definitely some.

But, did you check if your RAM is on the QVL though?

Dont know about QVL (will look into it) the problem started after 6-7 months of heavy use

And only thing that changed during that period were windows update and bios updates.

I have done 3 bios updates during that time.

I have always updated them never downgraded it (might try that later but dont think so it will make any difference)

How are you achieving the higher memory speeds? Are you using the XMP profiles or just manually setting the voltage and speeds. XMP has had some complaints over the years, and I have not really had much issue with it I know a lot of people complain about it. You may want to manually set the speed and voltage (maybe give the voltage a small bump over the xmp default voltage) and see if that works any better or allows you to run at the full speed without the errors in memtest

Yeah I was running the XMP profile I figured if I bump the voltage up I wont get the errors as I selected different XMP profile (slightly slower one and it went well) the problem is the restarts I am having even without using XMP (at default ram speeds)

as not once I was able to complete all the 4 pass(even at default setting) and the ram did pass in windows memory diagnose so I figured that wont be the problem (btw my ram is not a QVL ram)

Anyway I mention everything so that someone can figure the the problem or someone in the future can use it having the same problem but different cause.
