According to the pcpartpicker compatibility notes, the lower wattage PSUs apparently lack a 4-pin ATX power connector, which could present an issue. I'm not sure whether this is an issue or not.

  • MSI X570 board are trash, avoid.
  • Smaller PSU.
  • See if you can fit in a 1TB SSD.
  • See if you can fit in a 2080 Super.
  • I'd go with a G.Skill KM780 keyboard.
  • Don't get that monitor. They have very mediocre color.
  • That's a lot of money for 32GB of RAM.

Not sure if it's a good idea to spend extra for 3800x's slightly higher stock performance and on average, better OC potential than the 3700x, but that's a small problem compared to others

 

I'd go straight to 280mm or 360mm rad cooler, 240mm at their price range is sadly stuck between 280mm and big air coolers in performance, and that's not a big space to begin with.

 

MSI low end and even mid range X570 boards suck for their price, might as well go for their B450 ATX boards since they cost even less and already enough to run the 8 core CPUs. Max boards are preflashed, standard boards with BIOS flashback aren't. Tomahawk for example is a fully featured board I usually recommend.

 

Overpriced memory, I can get similar spec kits for about $120, no RGB tho. Trident Z RGB cost $136. Or you could downgrade to 3000MHz to save money or upgrade to 3600MHz CL16/17 kits.

 

I dont think HP EX920/Adata SX8200 Pro/S11/Corsair MP510 cost that much more than the Kingston A2000

 

That's a huge case for what little stuff you bought that would be put in it, and you forgot to add case fans. At least fill in the front and rear.

 

PSU is overkill in both wattage and model. 3800x + 2080 wont draw more than 450w, so even 650w units will suffice

You mean 4pin EPS or CPU? Just ignore that, dont need the extra cable since the 8pin powers the CPU more than sufficiently

So is this board guaranteed to be preflashed for third gen Ryzen processors? I'm not super knowledgeable about building PCs, so sorry for the seemingly stupid question.

Max is preflashed, but both boards can flash their BIOS without any CPU at all (just require the ATX 24pin to be plugged in) so it's technically only a "feels good" feature. the larger capacity bios chip on Max boards does means they get to keep their fancy BIOS design but you know, not a big difference since it doesnt affect function.

Thanks for the edit! I like the fans and the case. What's the issue with the model? I've never really purchased anything from Rosewill, and I'm not sure if they're a reliable PC hardware maker.
