Please help me with my Ryzen 5 build

AmrFlame188

Hey everyone
I'm building a sort of budget build and I'm looking for the best value for performance here and here's what I'm intending to *Hopefully* buy

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (Non X)
MB: msi B450-A pro
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 OC 6GB (Non TI)
Ram: Corsair vengeance LPX 16GB 3000MHz DDR4 (single stick)
Case+PSU: Cougar MX350 + 500W psu (idk the exact model)

Note1 : My budget is about 750$ ...though all the parts here (Egypt) are a bit more pricey than what you would typically find because of the customs system that my country uses (yay for me ._. ) so you can consider my budget to be around 700$

Note 2: my budget can't get any higher sadly cause I'm already way beyond my initial budget limit (which was about 680$)

Note 3: I won't be buying A monitor, HDD, or SSD with the build ... These will have a separate budget  that I'll save up later on .. for now I'll be using what I have.

Note 4: My use includes lots of gaming, coding, CAD design, web browsing and content consumption .... might as well try some emulation, vm and video editing for fun ...but I don't think I'll be overclocking it anytime soon

Note 5: I'm upgrading from an intel pentium E5700/nvidia gt 520 pc that I bought back in 2011 :'D .... also this pc is supposed to last me a good 6-8 years and I might upgrade it down the line.

Note 6: I tried using the pcpartpicker tool and got the warning telling me that I may need an older cpu to update the bios ..

And I can't get my hands on anothet cpu

My questions are:
1- what do you think about this build?
2- are there any other parts that'll give me the same/more performance for the same/less price?
3- I specifically chose this motherboard cause I knew that you can flash a bios update on it (to make it ryzen 3xxx compatible) using a USB stick without needing an older ryzen CPU.... is that true?
4- GTX 1660 or the RX580 4GB in terms of price to performance??
5- what do you think of the case/psu combo ... Is it safe?? If not .. can you please suggest me another case & psu within the same price?? (~95$)

6- the gpu is OC right?... does that affect its thermals or life time in any way?? And is there any better variant of the GPU for the same price?

Thanks for helping and sorry for my lengthy post & horrible English.

Actually, idk if they do it on Egypt but I don't see why not,  you can get an "upgrade kit" from AMD if you buy a Ryzen CPU and need to update which consists of some cheap CPU you can use to update your motherboard and some thermal paste for installation.

Actually pretty cool and you should probably check if it's available in your country.

Try getting an MSI board with a "MAX" designation. These will support Ryzen 5-3600 out of the box.

Like this one: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450-A-PRO-MAX

First of all thanks a lot for the help

I looked up for the pricing of the kit in the local online shops and I couldn't find anything.

However I'll go to local stores and ask for it or even see if there's an amd sevice centre in here

Wish me luck and again, thank you so much for the help.

Here are the MSI MAX boards that I can remember from the top of my head:

MSI B450 Tomahawk Max (AM4) B450

MSI B450M Mortar Max (AM4) B450

MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max (AM4) B450

MSI B450M Pro M2 Max (AM4) B450

MSI B450M-A PRO Max (AM4) B450

By the way the ones with the B450M are micro atx boards. Hope this helps.

There is no pricing...  Kit is free from AMD,  and you have to give it back after you updated,  you can definitely keep the thermal paste though!   :)
