What would be the best laptop for what I'm looking for?

I'm looking for a laptop that can do a few things: 1. Be able to handle extremely light gaming (such as Cooking Simulator and FTL) 2:  Have a nice screen that is nice, bright, and colorful. 3: Be cheap enough to not break the bank. (200$ or less.) If you can find any deals for the laptop you find, please link it in your reply. Thanks, manwithsomeham.

No such thing. Either you hand over the dough or get crappy laptop. Overspending is bad idea but cheaping out is even worse especially if you need your laptop for work purposes.

A $200 laptop is bottom end.  No discrete GPU at all.  Period.  Is a discrete GPU needed for cooking simulator and FTL though?  No idea. So the question is “what bottom end laptop has the best screen OR a better integrated GPU?” Likely won’t be both.

This is for new hardware though.  You may be able to find something on the used market.

what to do:

1: find out how much GPU you actually need to play the games you want to play.

2: look at eBay.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

$200 is going to get you a super shitty display. Likely a TN panel at 220nits.

Unless you find a super amazing deal on a used one
