Hi

At the moment i have a Sony xperia tipo, its very slow(800MHz CPU single core) has a small screen and a bad camera. So i am heavy considering upgrading, the phones i am looking at are the Samsung galaxy s4 and the Apple iphone 5c.

Which one do you guys think would be the best option, the only experience i have had so far with IOS is on a 2nd gen Ipod touch.

Thanks guys

S4 is far better. If you can stretch 5S is great as well. On the android side Moto X and Nexus 5 are some great options as well. The upcoming HTC One 2 (or whatever it's called) might be a great choice as well.

I will look out for the HTC one 2, i really like the look of the moto x but in NZ were i live. It is very over priced.

Wait.
MWC is in 2 weeks and they'll show off a bunch of new phones.

If you reallllly want to buy now, the S4 is a solid choice if you like to tinker and customize your experience, the 5c is a good choice if..you like color? Honestly I'd go with a regular 5 over the 5c. The 5c looks cheap.

I greatly prefer Android over iOs, my Apple hatred aside. I'll use Apple products if I think they're better. I've used Ipods because no one can match their OS. Sadly.

If anything, waiting a bit will allow you to get the S4 cheaper as they should be announcing the S5.

If you decide you want a Moto G or Nexus 5, and don't want to be charged too much I could buy one for you here and you could just Paypal me the money for it.

Just a suggestion. I've had Americans do the same for me so.

When it got to NZ would't customs check it and hold it until i payed the TAX?

Tax yes but you'd pay that regardless of where you bought the phone (unless you buy used).

There's no import duties on cell phones, if that's what you're referring to.

I could just mark it as a lower value. They should only tax you on declared. If I take off the screen protector and claim it as used (which technically wouldn't be a lie, once the box is opened) it could be declared even lower.

There's lots of work arounds. I import items as a side job.

My Lumia 800 has broken 4 times... I've given up on it now :( bought an S2... Fell in love with Android... But I assume Windows Phone 8 is better than Windows Phone 7.... !

The 920 would be the last WP I'd recommend. I'd go with the 620 before that beast.

It's heavily over weight.

Ok, it's not so much the OS as it is a combination of OS and battery life. Android based devices just can't complete in terms of size and longevity.

My Nano is perfect for working out. Lasts ages. Tiny.

It'd be easy for someone to make a similar device, they just don't. :(

Yeah I was looking at those. Awfully tempting. The Nano is a lot smaller though with a nicer screen.

The Sansa Zip on the other hand, that one I hadn't seen before today.

This is a true contender.

The expandability is nice but...useless on a work out device. I only need 45 min of music.
