Yes. That says that m2b only supports PCIe SSDs. You'll need to install your SATA SSD in the other slot.

I bought a Samsung 850 500gb M.2 SSD for my PC that has a Aorus B450 Elite i pluged it into a M.2 port nothing detected i tried to get it to work but I think the M.2 port on my motherboard only works for NVME drives anything I can do?

Check the motherboard manual for information about the m.2 slots and what they support.

Try the other m.2 slot.
