Hello, I have a brand new 650W PSU, the Seasonic SSR-650FM and i have all the parts I need besides a CPU. I have the evga RTX 2080 super and I'm not sure if I should buy the 9900K or the KS because of power consumption. ( I have no time and idea how to oc and I prefer to buy it OC'ed out of the box and i don't mind paying the difference). I'm not planning to oc anything further and my main use case is gaming. I also have 4 case fans (3 of them are RGB), the dark rock pro 4 cpu cooler, corsair LPX 16GBX2 3000MHZ CL15, 1TB nvme SSD, 1TB 860 EVO III SSD, 4TB HDD and my mobo is the z390 auros pro. is my PSU is capable enough to handle these components?

Don't worry, the Seasonic 650W is plenty.

It's fine. The 2080 Super is a 250W card, so expect the system to draw about 320W under a gaming load. Seasonic likes to do fairly sketchy crap, but it will be able to output 320W without issue.

Well true, but the KS draws around 250 too if i remember correctly so its 500W~ just these two beasts

Maybe in some fantasy universe, by not in this one.

That is also under a synthetic workload, and way higher than what you'd get while gaming. You are not going to max out both the CPU and GPU under any realistic workload. The total amount that the system draws from the PSU during gaming is pretty much GPU TDP + 70W. That's a fairly accurate estimate, no matter the system.

Even if the 9900KS used 250W while gaming, that would leave plenty for the rest of the system.

:)

My i9 9900K at 5ghz 1.34v uses about 180W on max load (reported on XTU) so I don't think the i9 9900KS really gets to 250W on any realistic scenario.

All right i see, i guess i was misinformed about the KS power draw. Thank you all guys! I'll go and buy the KS :)
