Moral of the Story: Check for Backplate

Fasauceome

We've all probably had a vivid PC dream or two ( @Turtle Rig you know what's up) and last night I had a dream that I got the backplate for this PC in the mail and was able to build it for my client. It was due to arrive while I was out of town so when it turned out to actually have arrived a day early I was immensely pleased. The reason I had to order one was that I did not notice the eBay listing for the motherboard excluded a backplate.

She's got a loaner graphics card for the time being and I slapped an SSD in there later as a bonus. As it turned out I actually managed to clone the windows install over from the old PC and all the files are in operation as expected (thanks to @Electronics Wizardy for the suggestion), a little DDU and it's running smooth. I had a spare wraith spire with the factory paste on it so I courteously upgraded that as well.20191029_132506.thumb.jpg.ed065e6c07a0c0f2fee8e3c84ad77c96.jpg20191106_132143.thumb.jpg.a76854ad7f44efd5c3b406ba4ad76fc7.jpg20191106_132154.thumb.jpg.c60ede6fe22a37a0364b530580ecb8fb.jpg

While I usually do not suggest a used power supply, this was an "every penny saved PC" so I found a refurbishing etailer and grabbed a decent Corsair unit.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Nice cheap build!

By backplate, do you mean I/O shield or something else?

The motherboard backplate, the metal bracket where the screws for the CPU cooler goes. You can see in the first picture that the holes around the CPU are vacant.

Oh yes I see, thank you! I didn't know this could be removed.

That is a great build for 270 bucks wow.  Nice job Faus.... The 760 gives 60fps but I don't know hwo it will play with the CPU.  But no bottleneck as CPU and video card are not that great.  Still a good system and nice job to throw in the SSD and what not.

The 760 holds up for a lot of games at medium and low, it delivers a pretty decent 1080p experience. The goal is to eventually toss a 570 in there, cause what budget gaming system is complete without an RX 570
