Ok so im building a PC and when i put all the parts in it comes up with this

What's the full list? Sometimes it gets things wrong or vague

You probably got a B450 board and Ryzen 3000 CPU?

B450 boards came out when Ryzen 2000 came out and thus at the time didn't have Ryzen 3000 support. B450 boards produced later in the life-span of the platform do have compatibility for Ryzen 3000. Typically this is either indicated by a sticker on the box, but there are some motherboard specifically made for the Ryzen 3000 CPU's (like the Tomahawk MAX and Carbon MAX boards from MSI).

 

PCPartPicker is telling you to doublecheck if the board is Ryzen 3000 compatible out of the box or tells you to check with the retailer to see if the mobo is Ryzen 3000 compatible (e.g. the sticker on the front indicating it).

 

From personal experience with a couple of CPU launches on the same platform.. At this point in the launch, most B450 boards the retailer will have are compatible. But I am glad PCPartPicker still notifies people; it's just a helpful "hey, look out for this"-feature.

Tomahawk MAX is actually specifically made for Ryzen 3000. Tomahawk (non MAX) is a board that came out before Ryzen 3000.

Of course it is entirely possible the board came out of the factory after Ryzen 3000 came out and thus is compatible (that's the whole sticker thing I mentioned before), but in theory the store could have an 8 month old board in stock, which would not be compatible.

I would suggest contacting the retailer you're buying from to confirm it's compatible (or just buy it, see if there is a sticker on it and if not; return it and ask them at that point for a Ryzen 3000 compatible board).

when u say manufacturer, do you mean the actual MSI company or something or the company that im buying the board from?

The company you're buying from (Amazon, Newegg, etc.).

MSI has been producing Ryzen 3000-ready boards for as long as Ryzen 3000 has been out. But it's possible the retailer still has a board in stock from before this time.

 

From experience, I can say 99% of the B450 boards I sell are Ryzen 3000 compatible at this point, but it's not a given fact always..

Keep in mind too, I believe just like this, you wouldn't be a able to control the Corsair LL fans. I believe your need a Node Pro for software controler, or their RGB hub + RGB controller for hardware control. I'm pretty sure they do have a 3 pack with more of this included, but that is like 60-70GBP, so not sure if that is worth it to you.

 

I actually have a PC similar to this planned out, I think the combo of 3600 + RTX 2070S is great :D

What do u mean when u say i wouldnt be able to control the corsair LL fans? would u just suggest me getting the 3 pack?

or MSI B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard ? which is better for money

The whole Corsair RGB thing is kind of confusing and another science all on its own..

A 3-pack of LL120's is 75GBP (Amazon UK) and includes this:

Which will allow this setup:

That will make it so you can control (up to) 6 fans via software. Fan control (fan speed) will be done via your motherboard's fan headers.

You could also add LED strips if you so desire.

 

Of course I am not nescecarily recommending you spend close to 80 GBP on RGB, but if you do want to get RGB fans; I recommend doing it the proper way right now, instead of the 'meh' solution (without a controller the fans will just do rainbow unicorn mode, instead of you being able to tell them what to do).

ok i want the RBG madness so do u recommend the £80 or something else?
also is my setup basically perfect with the MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC ATX AM4 Motherboard and the fan system you would recommend to me?
