I would like some advice since I'm not so familiar with this,

My budget is around €1000 and want to have something good for the money.

My thoughts :

Cpu : AMD FX-8350

Gpu : MSI GeForce GTX 770 4GB/OC

RAM : 2x4GB 1866 G. Skill Ares

SSHD : Seagate 2TB

Mobo : ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z

Cooler : Noctua NH-D14

Case : Zalman Z9 U3

Psu : Corsair RM 850W

(Maybe later a dvd player too)

I'd get a FX-8320 instead, 1600Mhz RAM is just fine. Also, if you want the best value for your money, get a cheaper motherboard, it doesn't have a big impact on performance. I'd also get the 2Gb 770, or just save to get the 780 at that point. AMD also offers great alternatives with the 280X and 290, certainly worth considering.

You don't need a 850W PSU, 600W is just fine, you could even manage with 500W on that rig. I'd get at least 600W to have a little bit of room though.

If you get a 8320 and OC like hell with a great CPU cooler like the NH-D14, isn't it just about the same thing as the 8350 anyways?

Here's modified setup, I'm not an expert in builds so there's still some tweaking required, but it gives you an idea of what you can get for even less. :)

OK, then you could get an even cheaper motherboard (with still good quality) by getting one with the 970 chipset, and get a cheaper CPU cooler like the 212EVO for silence. :)

What do you think of the 300R case? Much better built quality and design than Zalman's case IMO.

I would suggest an SSD for a boot drive... Really makes things quicker.

PROFILEYEAH

What do people even put in these things?

Pretty decent as is.

Maybe squeze a SSD into your budget for a boot drive.

Yea good idea of the mobo and cooler, but I liked the design of the Zalman and the blue led casefans though.

Thanks, but is the sshd so bad then?

It's not bad, but IMO it's a better idea to get a 120Gb/250GB for OS, programs and games, and use a regular HDD for a mass storage. SSDs are getting pretty cheap, £50 for 120Gb SSD and then £40 for 1Tb mass storage, that's a great deal :P (you have the budget to afford both)

Nope, 8320 is the same chip as 8350 but it overclocks less or not at all, thats why its cheaper. So you wont be able to reach the same clock speeds as you would with an 8350.

I am just bias towards SSD's. Its fine mate. My personal preference is to have the OS on a separate SSD.

It isn't bad. Maybe just consider it aye.

I wouldn't get a cheap mobo for an 8 core AMD. They're so power hungry they will burn out the VRM's on any cheap board relatively fast.

It certainly does overclock, and if you get a good one , it can go nearly as high as a 8350 can. I've had mine up at 4.7Ghz before, and I bet if I sent the time I could get it up to 5ghz, and I'm no expert at overclocking. The reason I don't is because I want my PC to run cooler and quieter rather than more powerful.

Where are you shopping/located?

^^ But I'd keep the 8350 for the extra power

The 8320 has the same cores as the 8350 but just lower binned. It's easily oc'ed just as fast as the stock 8350.

You should be oc'ing.
