GPU cable

Go to solution Solved by seon123,

The 1080 Ti is a 250W card, so it is recommended to use two separate cables, one connector per cable.

Hi all,

Got an EVGA G3 550 paired with a 1080 Ti SC that has a 6 and 8 pin connector. The PSU has a cable that has a 6+2 with another 6+2 connector on it and another cable that's a 6+2. Should I use both cables or just the one with 2 connectors???

if the cables are called pcie and are 6+2, on the 8 pin put that 6+2, on the second one take another 6+2 and plug only the 6 ones, leave unplugged the extra 2

if the psu has a third 6+2 one and goes alone from the psu, well yes, you can connect it alone, and the other with two, just use one of them, you decide how to handle cables, the one with two 6+2 might be hard to hide the unused connector, perhaps you have to let it hanghing unused, you can decide how to manage the cables

I'll do that then just to be safe.
