Back to 720p?

dgsddfgdfhgs

just a weird idea, before upgrading your gpu, will you consider lower the resolution

what will be the optimum monitor size for 720p to not look blurry?

tried playing nier at 720p on a 24" and it was really terrible...

15.6inch laptops max, and even then I really would much prefer a 1080p screen anyway

for 720 probably the smaller the better , though my phone is 720p and I kinda can notice that it is 720p

So i'd say 6.3 inches would be best for a 720p screen

well its ideal as your eyes literally cannot focus on the screen because it's physically too close to your face so you are forced to hold it farther away , thus it always looks nice and sharp

Wat

A healthy human eye focuses at a nearpoint of 25cm. As long as your screen size and resolution works out to 300 dpi at the distance you hold the screen from your eye and that distance is greater than 25cm you cannot tell the difference between that and a higher dpi.

14" for ~100PPI. at 720p

However it should be noticed that its less to do with monitor resolution and more to do with rendering resolution.

A 720 display displaying something rendered at 2560 x 1440, for example, will look a lot better than a 720 display displaying something rendered at 1280 x 720.

What ur really asking is how small does a display need to be before 'rendering' at 720p becomes less horrible to look at. And its a lot smaller than 14". Your probably looking at Mobile screen sizes. e.g ~6"

Example being the PSP. It has a 480 x 272 3.8inch screen. games rendered at that resolution even on a 3.8screen looked block AF despite a PPI of over 145. it wasnt the screens fault, it was the render resolution.

God no, 1366x768p is a disgrace, I hate it aaaaaaaa

Seriously the main compelling reason I upgraded my laptop was to get a proper 1080p panel at 15'6 since even if 768p is less bad at 15'6 it still is just awful specially when you get used to the higher resolutions.

the way prices are nowadays I'd argue 1080p as bare minimum always even if you have to buy second hand.

Oh definitely, 1366x768 is just stupid these days when some laptops can easily run at 1440p or even 4k

This is also why I abhor Lenovo laptops now as a lot of their non high-end ones aren't in 1080p, like wtf its 2019 you cheap bastards

For 720p, I'd say the 6.2" screen on Nintendo's Switch is about as large as you can go and still have a fairly "sharp" appearance.  Up to 11.6", the resolution looks OK with noticeable small pixels, and above that, you can easily start seeing pixels.

After testing thousands of LCD panels, inspecting for problems and bad pixels, it's gotten way too easy for me to notice individual pixels.  For someone else though, 720p on a 15.6" screen may still look pretty good.  And for others, it can look totally awful in their eyes.
