Custom Screen in case to display temp, speed, etc?

Aristotle2019

I wanted to ask about how to setup an indipendant small screen inside the pc case that can display different stats such as temps, clock speeds, ram/CPU usage and storage drive usage. Just some of the basic stuff for no use but just because it looks cool.

I saw some tutorials on YouTube. One uses a Raspberry Pi (custom OS and custom app available from him) and a 4" display, which is wonderful until he says it needs to connect via hotspot. Can this be possible via ethernet cable ? But it's his software so..

Here's that video

Then there is this, which uses it as an extended windows monitor.

But he uses NZXT Hue, which I have no intent of using.

So I need you guys to suggest which way is better, and I don't mind some wiring, but I do mind setting up a hotspot Every time I open up my pc.

If the screen can fit in like a 2.5" or 3.5" drive caddy? Or if I need a custom 4"+ caddy and if the raspberry pi module can too.

Or if an extended Windows monitor is the better way to go, in which case, which software do I use ? Is there a non branded non proprietary software for this purpose ?
