Hello,

 

Recently I bought a Ryzen 3 2200g while it was on sale, and I'm pretty happy with what I got:

4 Cores, AM4 socket, clocking at 3.5 Ghz (Can be boosted to a max of 3.7 Ghz according to AMD.)

 

What I would like to know is there a good affordable card ($200 USD and lower) that I should pair with this card? 

I'm also open for motherboards, if you wouldn't mind giving advice there as well.

rx 580 is prob your best bet now or if u can wait, The rx 5500 sounds amazing for price

You can get a rx 590 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6h66Mp/sapphire-radeon-rx-590-8-gb-pulse-video-card-11289-06-20g brand new for 200USD. Minimum should be a rx570 4gb. Or wait for the RX 5500.

 

As for a motherboard a MSI b450 a-pro or tomahawk is nice and will allow upgradability for Zen2 maybe Zen3 in the future

I'd get a RX 570 or a used 980 ti, a 580 is good too.

I recommend pushing up to the GTX 1660. Yes it's over $200 but it's faster than the RX 590 (matches it in AMD-biased games, beats it by up to 20% in Nvidia-biased games) and at half the power draw, needs less PSU power.

RX 570, 580 (maybe 590 if you look around) would pair very well with that CPU and be well within your $200 budget.

but less vram, which may or may not be an issue. (see nvidia 700-series cards vs r9 200-series cards)

I have never managed to go through 6GB usage on an 8GB 1070 so far

 

also Kepler cards didnt beat their competition with performance in the first place. On that point it's more like Geforce 900 series against AMD R9 300 series

Last time I checked, the 780 Ti did beat the 290x. Not saying VRAM will be an issue now, or that it will be later, but it might be.

I was thinking of the 780, but now that you mention the cut down Titan, doesn't that show more that GPU performance is more important than VRAM?

I think waiting for the RX 5500 isn't a bad idea.

 

Plus, we are month out from Black Friday / Cyber Monday, so I would suggest holding out.

 

If you can't, you really can't beat what the RX 580s are going for on sale right now.
