ICloud Activation Lock

So, basically i got a phone from a friend that his father sent from the UK and he told me to unlock it

I've been trying everything from sketchy chinese software to IMEI decoders.

Should I just go to an apple store and have them deactivate it?

Most likely his father got it from someone that stole it

He bought it for 70 pounds

We cant help you break the law. Sorry.  Also Apple wont dactivate the lock. They will tell you to pound sand. Unless the owner of that phone takes the lock off, your fucked.

How the phone was obtained is irrelevant. Fact of the matter is you need to find the account holder of the icloud to undo the lock and persuade him/her to do so. Though if insurance had replaced the device, they may understandably be reluctant to do so. Unless you've some leads to pursue in this regard, you're pretty much stuck with a "parts" phone.
