Wait, you're trying to boot to an SSD with windows that you use in other systems?

 

It's probably that then. You can't (in most cases) fluently swap hardware like that on a windows install.

Okay so, im not sure if boot loop is the correct term here but, i got myself a old HP pc for free with core 2 quad, 8gb ram and a hd6450 in it. I plugged in my ssd to it, to make sure everything works as it came with no hdd and it gets to the loading windows 10 screen fine, but i just get the windows logo and not the circle. I go to bathroom and it didnt load. I restart 2 times and get preparing automatic repair and stuck there. I go to bios, reset all to default and now it just boot loops, as soon as it gets to windows screen it restarts. All works fine on my spare laptop and main pc, so i thought mby its just a ssd problem, so i plugged in a normal hdd and same problem... Any ideas?

I'd just reinstall windows, sounds like it's having a hard time getting past it's own bootloader

It's probably that then. You can't (in most cases) fluently swap hardware like that on a windows install.

You cant just use a HDD with Windows on it for another PC. You have to reinstall it.

It's not required, as I've experienced several times with swapping hardware, but it is highly advised in most cases.

There are so many possible problems comming with it, not worth it in my opinion. 2h insallement and you are on the safe side.
