What do y'all think?

Fletch19

What do you guys think on this build? I'm going to be using it for CS:GO, RB6 and the new COD, as well as light streaming and video editing. I'm going to be playing at 1080p, and wanna easily and consistently stay above 144 fps (mostly in cs, which, ik ik, is a very new AAA game that i might struggle to hit 144 Hz in). It was a balance of what I could afford and still leaving an upgrade path for the future. I may wait till the b550 boards come. My budget is about $1700 AUD, and no, i won't be overclocking (might even under volt for longevity, idk). Anyway, yeah! LMK what you would change/replace/remove, and ty in advance for your help! Ciao!

The only real changes I would make are the SSD (NVMe or Crucial's MX500) and the power supply

Then I saw Australia so yeah, you guys get shafted when it comes to power supply prices so I guess the only real change is the SSD

Looks good to me, though are you not going to get a hard drive? I'd think you'd want the space for videos and stuff if you're gonna be editing.

Also, as much as I love the meshify C, maybe get a different case like the fractal focus. That may not be as pretty but if you're wanting to save some money it still has pretty good airflow.

Other than the fact that there's an MSI motherboard, looks pretty good.

I'd maybe see if you can grab a better SSD, and consider waiting for Black Friday if those sales are a thing where you are.

Is it possible to get a motherboard with built in WiFi? They're usually not much more.

Most AMD boards don't really come with WiFi

And whats wrong with the Tomahawk lol, I mean I know MSI's BIOS game is kinda meh but that board is really good

That's simply not true. There's almost 50 boards just between B450/X470/X570 that come with WiFi onboard.

Every MSI motherboard I've had has either failed or developed issues. I'll never recommend an MSI motherboard to anyone.

Yes there exists those with Wifi onboard, all but 1 of the B450 chipset is more expensive than the Tomahawk (Asrock B450M/ac, essentially looks like a Pro4 with Wifi). The others include 4 Mini-ITX boards, a MSI B450 Pro Carbon AC & the stupidly overpriced Gigabyte Aorus Pro Wifi

The others are all X470/X570 that are way more expensive than the $170 board OP picked. So yeah, I think buying a PCIe x1 wireless card is a much more economical decision than buying a much more expensive board just for Wifi

Sure, but what you said is still factually incorrect; there are loads AMD boards with build in WiFi.

The cheapest PCIe WiFi card is $43. It's only $15ish more to get a better board with built in WiFi.

Why do you reccomend a better SSD? I just got this one cuz Crucial is a reputable brand and it was the cheapest 1TB drive (yeah ik, 960, but eh).
