Hey guys,

I just got the Canon printer mentioned in the title and have noticed everytime I print a document it is printing it in a different font to the document. This also causes some letters to overlap with the font change.

I've had a look through all the settings but can't seem to work out what's happening.

What happens when you convert this file to a .PDF? Does it have the same overlap?

What happens then if you print this .PDF?

It already is a PDF and shows fine before it's printed. I've printed this document from other printers recently and hadn't had any issues.

Looks like someone had a similar issue with their printer. I will quote what they said, but will leave the context in a spoiler, if your'e interested to read it:

Most modern laser printers have a common set of printer-resident fonts available, but the Calibri font is not included in this set. When using a PostScript driver to print text in Calibri, the driver substitutes it for one of the printer-resident fonts that is a close match to Calibri, based on the characteristics of the source font; this usage is imperfect, often resulting in poor spacing and the unintelligible symbols you describe. Your reference to bitmap settings on the printer suggests you may be using a PCL5 driver, which converts the text to a raster image and then sends the image (rather than font characteristics and plain text) to the printer; this too can cause the same issue when using a non-standard font like Calibri.

Set the printers to use downloaded fonts and not internal font sets, by installing the most recent PCL6 driver and using this to print.
