Disregard the maybe. X570 is for 3rd gen Ryzen.

Hi,

I'm planning on upgrading my computer with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or 3600X and i know motherboards can have compatibility issue with RYZEN 3rd Gen. So is there somewhere (maybe on the manufacturer website) where it says "compatible with RYZEN 3rd gen end of the story"

Thanks

The b450 Tomahawk MAX comes ready out of the box regardless since it was made with this use case in mind

I've found this source which says : " The X570 chipset was selected rather than the B450 chipset in order to bypass any BIOS update issues that would occur when combining a new Ryzen 3000 series (Zen 2) CPU with a B450 chipset. "

X570 and certain B450 boards (like Tomahawk MAX) will ALWAYS be compatible.

With all other B450 and X470 you're dependent on the board being produced late enough, so the manufacturer actually updated the BIOS. (some boards have stickers on their packaging, indicating its compatibility).

If you are looking for a cheap board to grab. Get a B450 tomahawk Max, Mortar Max, Gaming Plus Max. Or any of the Max derivatives from MSI that has a heatsink over the VRM.
