Stream from one PC to another

Rakanoth
Go to solution Solved by Olaf6541,

Have you looked into that article yet? It uses OBS and NGINX to stream into another pc, might be an option for you.

What are the latency-free methods to live-stream my gaming activity from one PC to another. Both computers are next to each other so no need to use Twitch etc.

What specifically are you trying to do? Play the games from one PC on another? Or just stream the gameplay to the other computer so you can watch it on there?

I just want to stream it to another computer in real time so that someone else can watch it there live.

i guess you can remote desktop and tell them not to touch anything

Anti-cheats don't like that. I don't want to take any risk.

If the pc's are next to each other anyway, why not plug the second monitor into your game pc and ducplicate the screen?

Yes, this is another option but I am wondering how I can stream without using two monitors for the same PC.

Can also live stream to friends or individuals via steam. Don’t think you have to be in a steam game for it to work properly but that’s a potential option.

This sounds good but if the stream is routed through Steam servers, then it will add latency etc.

I hope Steam has an option to stream locally.

Certainly less latency than twitch but still some noticable difference...

This article suggest OBS:

Never looked into it. You can change the settings but doing it over lan is your only option if you aren’t gonna invest in a capture card.

Why? I assume you have a monitor for the second PC, if they're next to each other then just use two duplicated monitors on the main PC. Will certainly add less latency than any streaming options.

Discord can also do this, they added it as a beta a bit ago and it's full release now.

Can you stop repeating that solution? I said we don't want to do that. We have an esports team. There are multiple computers and these computers have to stream into a single computer. Sometimes there are going to be 10 computers streaming into one, and sometimes there is going to be a single computer streaming into one. The receiving computer will have the ability to switch between which computer he wants to watch. The distance between computer swill change from time to time so no cable can suit this particular solution (i.e. the solution you offer). Again, please stop repeating that solution.

Backing up the one other person saying it is hardly repetitive.

You mentioned 2 computers, not that you'd need to be streaming from multiple PCs to a single one. That seems like a pretty important detail to include in the OP.

People can only work with the details they're given. From what you gave us it seemed like you only needed to duplicate the output from one (1) PC, the most logical solution in that use case is just using a second monitor at the same res and mirroring it.

This: "live-stream my gaming activity from one PC to another. Both computers are next to each other so no need to use Twitch etc."
Is an entirely different use-case to this: "We have an esports team. There are multiple computers and these computers have to stream into a single computer. Sometimes there are going to be five computers streaming into one, and sometimes there is going to be a single computer streaming into one. The receving computer will have the ability to switch between computers. The distance between computer swill change from time to time. "

Should probably have put the second one in the OP in the first place.
