If you don't want anything too fancy and just sounds good the fx audio dac x6, smsl m3 , fiio e10k or fiio k3 are all good options.

can the fio k3 connect to speakers? because i got the fio e10k and they didn't connect to speaker it was only for headphones?

the e10k should be able to lug into the speakersfrom the rear output of the unit.  and your headphones plgged in through the front.  trough 3.5 mm

well my Logitech 980-001281 MX Sound 2.0  cable work out with Fiio k3?

You'd connect the rear 3.5mm output on the Fiio K3 (line out) to either of the rear 3.5mm inputs (aux or PC) on the MX Sound 2, with a male-to-male 3.5mm stereo cable. The Fiio will only be acting as a DAC, but should work fine.

What's the exact model of your sound card?

Is it the old PCI or is it PCI-e?

Because if it's PCIe,  I find it hard to image it won't fit onto the motherboard - you have 3 pci-e x1 and 3 pci-e x16 slots on that board. You know you can plug an x1 or x4 card into a x16 slot, right? PCIe is designed that way.

If your sound card is PCI, there are PCIe to PCI bridge adapters (they're like a pci-e x1 card which have a chip on them which creates one or several PCI slots)

If you have some room below the motherboard (between power supply and motherboard, you can place such an adapter there.

Here's a well made example, but expensive: https://www.reichelt.com/de/de/de/en/riser-karte-pcie-2-x-pci-9-cm-linksgerichtet-delock-41341-p114380.html?r=1

You'd need to put some feet under the board (standoffs) and it powers directly from pci-e slot, the adapter has voltage converters on it.

Here's a cheaper example: RIITOP PCIe PCI Express to 2 PCI Adapter Card Converter Riser Extender with USB 3.0 60cm Cable PCIe to 2x PCI Expansion Converter - Newegg.com

The small card goes in the pcie slot, you create the data connection to the other board with the USB cable and you power the other board with a SATA connector (because pci needs 3.3v and 5v and PCIe doesn't have 5v, but SATA does)

This adapter is less than 40$, and it's cheaper than a high end sound card.

Similar product on eBay : https://www.ebay.com/itm/PCIe-to-PCI-2-Slots-Adapter-Card-PCI-Express-With-0-6m-USB3-0-Cable-PCI-Riser/252408064486

Even if you don't have room under the motherboard, you could put one of those on the bottom of the case and then use a PCI riser cable from it to your sound card.

Here's examples of such PCI riser cables (they're hard to find because you find loads of PCI-e riser cables and name is similar), i used "pci riser cable extension -express -pcie -pci-e" on Google (the minus in front of words tell Google to throw out pages that say those words)

Here's a good result (the 10 uk pound one in the middle with white connector) : https://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=8#FR10P

Here's another good result : https://www.newegg.com/p/0X6-04KT-06V75

image.png.56b9fb898db8d629014947328347eab8.png

You plug your sound card into the white connector, and you bend the riser cable carefully and plug the other end into one of those PCI slots created by the pcie to pci bridge.

Here's other riser cables

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/axgear-pci-extension-ribbon-cable-extender-riser/12381863

If you can't screw the card to the case because the white connector is too tall, you could cut a tiny bit of metal from the bracket at the bottom of the sound card or from the top of the bracket to shorten the bracket.

It's not like you have anything to lose, if you can't use the sound card anyway.

You can remove the bracket by unscrewing it from the sound card, and you can cut the metal or bend it to make it smaller, and then screw it back to the sound card.
