Will you be overclocking the 9900k ?

It will be fine if you keep the CPU in stock settings.

If you plan to do any OCing you may need a bigger cooler.

You can always test it and if you are not happy with the temps you can always change the cooler.

You won't damage your CPU in anyway.

Most likely stock clocks? If this cooler it's not good enough Noctua or water?

Whats the point getting a K sku CPU if you aint gonna overlock.

What is the reason for the upgrade from 8700 to 9900k?

Whats the budget for the build? Would recommend looking AMD way like 3600 or 3700x or if need balls to the wall a 3900x

My mb support up to i9-9900k I won't change anything else, also my old/current cpu will go to my brother pc. In order to switch to amd I have to sell my current cpu and switch to amd. My budget mid range with that cpu

If you are going to overclock the CPU in the future you may need to upgrade your cooler but depending on what case you have it is unclear what cooler is best for you.

A good size dual tower air cooler like Noctua D15 or CM Dark Rock Pro 4 would be great but so would most big (240mm/280mm/360mm) AIO coolers from Corsair/NZXT/Asus etc... It really depends on your case and what airflow you have.

What motherboard do you have for the 9900k ?

I am currently using i7-8700 with CPU Cooler: MSI CORE FROZR XL Temps with this cooler are 60-68

Is this cooler will be good for i9-9900K?

Considering you want to go for a 9900k I would seriously recommend upgrading the cooler because that CPU is hot

I personally like my build to run cool as possible and I don't think that cooler will be that good. I would definitely recommend a Noctua cooler like a NH-D15, NH-D15S or NH-U12A or a be quiet! cooler like a Dark Rock 4 or Dark Rock 4 Pro. If you're going to get a $500 CPU you may as well spend a bit more on some premium cooling so the CPU can run as cool and overclock as well as possible (this is assuming you're going to overclock the 9900k, if you don't want to then just go for a 9900).

Also, you've currently got an i7-8700 which calls into question what motherboard chipset you're using because no point considering a 9900k if you're not using a Z370 or Z390 motherboard.

I have seen several Mini-ITX builds with a small 120mm AIO cooler on a 9900k with resonable temps. And OP said that he will most likely (to begin with) keep the CPU on stock settings so the MSI CORE FROZR XL will be fine for that.

I also asked for what mobo he will be using with the 9900k as he needs at least a z370 chipset with updated BIOS and decent VRMs

I don't know if I would recommend using that mobo for a 9900k. You only have 4 main VRM phases for the CPU which is not recommended.

You need a Tier B mobo even if you are not oveclocking.

Se the list in the link below.

Tier D Basic (pentium, celeron, i3, i5)

MSI: Gaming Plus

And at this point it may be a good idea to look at AMD instead if you need to upgrade both mobo and CPU.

CPU: i9 9900K   Cooler: NH-D15   RAM: Kingston Fury 4 x 8GB 3600MHz CL17   Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F   GPU: ASUS 3080 TUF   Case: Be Quiet! 500DX   PSU: Corsair HX850i   Storage: 250GB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (OS), 500GB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (Games), 2TB Crucial BX500 SSD (Storage)   Monitor: Samsung Odyssey Neo G9.

@BoyohanRyzen it's more expensive in my country, not the best deal

That I can understand compeletely.

I would recommend Asus Prime Z390-A if you are going to upgrade both mobo + CPU and you still want Intel.

Asus Prime Z390-A have among the best value to performance.

Or you can keep the mobo that you have now but I wouldn't put anything bigger than an i7 9700 (not "K" model) but that wouldn't really be an upgrade from the i7 8700 that you have now.

If running at stock, a premium twin tower cooler is enough, unless the machine operates at the tropicals.

Mild to intermediate overclocking? At least a 280 radiator AIO for your thermal solution.

Stablized a OCed 9900K for daily operation? You need custom loops with at least one thick 280 radiator.
