USB Works on PC but not LGTV

saminam

As the title says i have a 32 GB USB i typically put movies on in the form of MP4 and MKV files. I also have the exact same type of USB but it is 64 GB in size. I used to put movies on the smaller USB and plug it into my old LGTV to watch them. It worked fine and all was well. One day as i was leaving to dog sit a family members house I copied over as many movies i liked as I can as they also have an older LGTV. As soon as i got there and from that point on of plugging it into their LGTV i have received the error "File or directory damaged: failed to read USB".

The USB works perfectly on all PCs and when scanned for errors there is none. I have also tried formatting the drive to each type and plugging it into the TV again.Nothing. I am at a loss as what to do. if I google the error i get forum posts and questions that end up with the poster being ignored and a fix never being mentioned. Any help on what could possibly be wrong would be appreciated. Is it possible i removed the USB while it was still copying data and it somehow only damaged it in a way it wont work with the TV ? Thanks in advance for any replies.

W10 cant format FAT32, it uses ExFAT which is not quite the same thing and can lead to issues.

It could also be a file format issue.

Lastly, it could be that someone nuked the USB port.

So when I format into fat32 its not actually formatting to fat32 ? The file format option seems unlikely as it was onl an mp4 file i had on the drive. Also nuked as in the USB is broken ? Im not 100% on what "nuked" means
